Lace up your work boots, my child.

Untitled_Artwork 6.jpg

I get that you didn't want to talk about that particular subject-
But you will behave so that the other child in the conversation feels valued.

I understand that you feel like your idea was better-
But the other child felt the same way

It makes sense that you were tired and short on patience-
But I will insist that you learn to manage yourself through discomfort.

I know that you felt misunderstood-
But you do not get to stomp all over the rest of us.

Life is hard at times, my little buddy...
But I will not run ahead of you and smooth your road.
Rather, I will teach you how to lace up your work boots and will walk beside you.

I love you,
Mom
